Nice website. I’m intrigued by this movie. I’ve struggled with addiction myself. I haven’t been under Oxy’s spell, but I know what detox is like and it miserable. I hope this movie captures that horror.

Hi. I’m glad you like the website. OxyContin Blues was a labor of love for me. I wanted to show the horror of opiate addiction and not romanticize it at all. That’s why most of the movie is about Oxy Withdrawal and detox, and not about the high, which most movies always indulge in. I have had many friends and members of my family succumb to addiction, and I’ve seen it destroy entire families. It is brutal.

I was also moved, deeply, by the loss of Heath Ledger, one of the bright lights of his generation. So, I decided to put the two aspects — celebrity and addiction — into the same movie. I don’t know how well it works. But I trust you who see OxyContin Blues with come back here and let me know.

Thanks for visiting this site, and please let us know anything that might be helpful for anyone struggling with addiction, whether it’s addiction to prescription pills, cocaine, alcohol, or whatever. Your advice, your stories and commiseration are greatly appreciated.

My son was an oxy addict. It almost killed me. He is recovered now and has his life back. I can’t wait to see this movie. Thanks for putting it together.
